“It is a good rule after reading a new book, never to allow yourself another new one till you have read an old one in between.” ― C.S. Lewis
“You know you’ve read a good book when you turn the last page and feel a little as if you have lost a friend.” ― Paul Sweeney
I won’t be converting to a Kindle or any other techno book reading device any time soon. I love going to the library, browsing the stacks and discovering authors and books I’ve never heard of, finding that must read classic novel or rediscovering ones I’ve long forgotten. Sure I can do that online, but it’s just not the same thing. It just feels different.
I love being surrounded by all that history, holding the hardcovers in my hands, turning the pages and diving into another world.
I am however using a bit of technology to help me keep track of what I’ve read, what I’m reading and what I want to read. The website is Goodreads and it is fantastic! I’ve gotten so many great book recommendations, incites and ideas to ponder. Plus I can leave reviews of books I’ve read to share with other, find friends and join book groups of people with similar interests, enter contests and maybe even get published.
If you’d like to be my friend on the site visit Goodreads then look me up on by the name AmyLyn2112.
